Andrea Giacomelli is an infectious diseases physician and researcher at the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences, University of Milan, and at the Department of Infectious Diseases of Luigi Sacco Hospital, Milan. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery and completed his specialization in Infectious Diseases at the University of Milan. Since April 2025, he has served as coordinator of the HIV Outpatient Service at Luigi Sacco Hospital, which provides care to approximately 6,000 people with HIV. His clinical and research activities focus primarily on HIV care, antiretroviral treatment optimisation, comorbidities, sexually transmitted infections, and the prevention and management of emerging and reemerging infectious diseases. He is involved as principal investigator and sub-investigator in phase II-IV clinical trials and in national and international observational studies.
